Our Workamping Position in Colorado

Updated: Jul 9, 2021

We are in Colorado Springs, Colorado at Cheyenne Mountain State Park. We are here for the summer season volunteering as camp hosts. What we do here is assist campers, sell firewood, clean bathhouses and campsites. Once a week we also work at the entry station collecting fees for park passes. In exchange for our efforts. we get a free campsite with water, electric and sewer hookups. We work 28 hours per week, and are free to explore the area the rest of the time. We have a long list of activities and places to see, but so far we have been relaxing, enjoying the park itself. We have seen deer, turkeys, rabbits and multiple birds.

We even saw bear scat! Yes, there are bears and mountain lions in the park.

We've been here since March 26, and so far, Mother Nature has been mighty moody. We have had snow nearly the entire month of April, and even into mid May.

We are looking forward to warmer weather so we can take advantage of all Colorado Springs and the area have to offer. White water rafting, waterfalls, the zoo, Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, and Pikes Peak are just a few on our list.

We are planning to make videos of our adventures and sharing them on YouTube. We post pictures on our Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/rvlovinlife/ .
